I’m writing this letter sitting at my hotel room as our daughter is attending prom, because what I’m about to tell you has me so goddamn angry I can barely contain myself. I was reading a newsletter about IRS policy.

The government has created the most perverse, twisted tax policy in history — and nobody’s talking about it.

Let me explain this monstrosity…

Americans lost a mind-numbing $12.5 BILLION to scammers last year. That’s not a typo. BILLION with a “B”.

Now, here’s where it gets interesting (and by “interesting” I mean “makes me want to punch a hole through my wall”)…

If you get scammed because you were GREEDY and chasing profits, congratulations! Uncle Sam will let you deduct your losses.

But if you get scammed because you were LOVING or CARING for someone else? Uncle Sam tells you to go pound sand.

I swear, I’m not making this up.

The IRS actually published guidance confirming this insanity. Let me break it down for you:

• Get scammed in a “pig butchering” investment scheme? FULLY DEDUCTIBLE!
• Send money to a fake kidnapper who claims they have your child? TOUGH SHIT, PAL!
• Fall for a phishing scam promising huge returns? DON’T WORRY, WE GOT YOUR BACK!
• Give money to someone pretending to love you? HAHAHA… NO DEDUCTION FOR YOU, SUCKER!

This is the government literally REWARDING greed while PUNISHING love and compassion.

I know how people tick. And I can tell you this sends one crystal-clear message to every American:

“BE GREEDY. DON’T BE LOVING.”

Is it any wonder our society is circling the drain?

Here’s the brutal truth most tax advisors won’t tell you:

Since 2017, when those swamp creatures passed the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, personal theft losses are ONLY deductible if they’re connected to a federally declared disaster.

But losses from “transactions entered into for profit” are still deductible.

Translation: If you were trying to GET RICH when you got scammed, you’re golden. If you were trying to HELP SOMEONE, you’re screwed.

Now, I don’t know about you, but that seems EXACTLY BACKWARDS to me.

What should you do about this?

  1. UNDERSTAND THE GAME IS RIGGED. The system doesn’t reward virtue — it rewards vice. Plan accordingly.
  2. PROTECT YOURSELF FROM ALL SCAMS. Nobody else will.
  3. IF YOU DO GET SCAMMED, document everything like a maniac. Then find a creative tax advisor who can help you frame your loss as “profit-motivated” however possible.

One more thing…

Remember when your teachers told you the government makes rules to protect people and create a just society?

Yeah… that was a lie.

The system is designed by sociopaths to benefit sociopaths.

I don’t tell you this to depress you. I tell you because knowing the truth gives you POWER.

Power to protect yourself. Power to navigate the system. Power to WIN despite their best efforts to keep you down.
